Meet Michelle

My Story

My career has included several years of office work in corporate, small business, and government agency offices, developing skills in Accounting, Purchasing, and Payroll. Numbers, spreadsheets, and reports have been part of my working life since Excel was in its first version! Thank goodness I took a class on it during my undergraduate studies at the University of Central Missouri, where I earned a degree in Management studies in 2001. That course and those I took in Accounting gave me the foundational skills I have built on throughout my career.

Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, marriage brought me to Virginia in 2008. The towns of the Blue Ridge Mountains have been home long enough for the word “y’all” to roll off my tongue! Free time finds me up on the Blue Ridge Parkway on a hike, walking the Monticello Trail, or participating in local historical dance groups for fun.

I am a single mother to a teenage daughter, and being a small business owner gives me freedom to support her without the constraints of the roles I have previously held. She and I enjoy a happy life together, full of shopping, trips to the movie theater, cooking together, and playing with our two young cats.
